The ability to write well isn’t innate, nor does it strike like lightning.

Rather, it takes time to create something in which we feel pride. Many hours, sentence by sentence, moment by moment.

With practice, you can recreate many of the practices we’ve discussed in a few seconds each day. Practice getting in touch with your essence. Live with a sense of wonder and teachability. Allow yourself to feel the joy – rather than the effort – in your writing. Train yourself to listen to what your stories are saying to you.

Take some time to meditate on these ideas and commit to incorporating them into your creative practice. You may feel a shift inside you as any feelings of judgment, stress, or jealousy slip away, and are replaced by a sense of creative well-being.

Create freely and love what you do.
