For today’s practice, take some time to accept and appreciate where you are on your creative path. Show some love for your strengths and weaknesses, as well as your successes and failures.

  • If you start projects but don’t finish, that’s ok. That’s where you are today.
  • If you haven’t found a publisher, that’s ok. That’s where you are today.
  • If your readers love your sense of humor, that’s great! If you’ve self-published your work, congratulations!

Outside validation – and the occasional financial benefit – are helpful components of a creative journey, but they aren’t the journey itself.

You don’t need anything outside yourself. All you need is the desire, the will, the work ethic, and some time. These are all yours already.
